I would just like to thank you Dominic for everything you have done for me over the last couple of weeks. It has been the most difficult time in mine and my brothers life on the loss of our amazing dad. Nothing was too much trouble and I must’ve phoned you 100 times!! Your calmness and professional manner towards my family was truly wonderful. I hope I don’t need your services again for a long time but when I do or when anyone I know needs this service I will be recommending you 100%. I cant believe how much we have saved (which is something my dad would’ve been pleased with) and with the money we have saved we will be getting something very special in memory of my dad. Thank you again Dominic. Please also pass on my thanks to Mandy for the lovely tribute to my dad on the day of the service. Love Zara Connor

Many thanks to all at Fallons. The service we had for my beautiful mum was wonderful and a great tribute to her and the life she lived. Dominic was so caring and went above and beyond for us. Nothing was too much trouble. More people need to be aware that you don’t have to pay extortionate prices that some funeral directors charge. Everything was just as it should be for half the cost. I recommend Fallon Funerals to ANYONE! Many thanks once again Dominic and please pass on my thanks and regards to Keith also. Dawn x

Wonderful!
“I don’t know where to start to thank you for the kindness you showed to me and Brian’s family. The dignity and respect that you treated our Dear Brian with was beyond words. You helped to make a beautiful tribute to the man we all loved and adored. All the special touches you added for us meant more than you will ever know. You are such a wonderful gentleman and should be so proud of the difficult job you do each day. No words can adequately express all the compassion and understanding you showed to us as we were grieving and trying to make decisions. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you.

If I could give a higher rating then I would! I cannot thank Dom and his men enough. They did my grandma's funeral yesterday and I cannot fault them. Dom walked beside the hearse when we were going to the church, they handled the coffin in such a gentle way it felt like they actually cared for my grandma. They bowed to the coffin, they were respectful and professional. When I asked if I could have a minute alone with her they stepped to one side and told me to take as much time as I needed. To sum it up they were AMAZING! Thank you so much for your service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I've been working with Dominic and the team at Fallon Funeral Services for a while. Dominic is professional, compassionate and caring at a time when people really need it. As a funeral director, he is confident and unflappable and I have no hesitation in recommending him.

First of all, let us say that we are sorry to hear that you’ve lost someone close to you. Hopefully the following information is helpful in letting you know what to do next. You can call us 24 hours a day and whether or not you choose to use Fallon’s, we’ll do our best to help you through your darkest days.

When someone dies in hospital

The Medical Certificate of Death will be issued by a doctor, and you will need to make arrangements to collect it along with any personal belongings. If you require a cremation, let the bereavement team know so that they can give you any additional documents you might need. If for some reason a Death Certificate cannot be issued, the death of your loved one will be reported to Her Majesty’s Coroner. We can liaise with the coroner and the bereavement team to take over care of your loved one as soon as they are released. Family are able to visit their loved one in the hospital chapel – this can be arranged directly with the bereavement services team at the hospital.

When someone dies at home (or in residential care

The doctor in charge of your loved one should be the first point of contact. If they are satisfied with the cause of death, they will issue the Medical Certificate of Death. You may need to pick it up from the doctor’s surgery. If your loved one is in residential care, the staff will liaise with the doctor. As with those that die in hospital, if a death certificate cannot be issued, the death will be reported to the Coroner’s office. Contact us to have your loved one collected from home.

When someone dies unexpectedly

If the death of your loved one is sudden or unexpected, the Coroner’s office will be involved. It is advisable to contact the following people to inform them;

  • The family doctor
  • The nearest relatives(s)
  • The police, who will help find the people you need to inform
  • If a family doctor is not available, the emergency doctor or police will inform the relevant Coroner’s office
Registering a Death

The UK Government site recommends that there are three things to do following a death;

  • Obtain a medical certificate from the Hospital or GP.
  • Register the death (see below)
  • Make arrangements for a funeral with a funeral director

Different rules apply to different countries, you can check here what the regulations state – in England, it must be registered within 5 days and can be done on the link below. https://www.gov.uk/register-a-death/
